Sinaing na Tulingan

Basic Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilo tulingan (Skipjack tuna)
  • 2 tablespoons rock salt
  • 1 thumbsize ginger, crushed
  • 50 grams pork fat, sliced into strips
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/4 cup tamarind juice
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 pieces siling mahaba
  • 1/2 cup water

Cooking Methods

Remove gills and all internal organs of the fish. Slit both sides of the fish and press against the sides with palms of the hands to flatten the fish and soften its flesh. Wash thoroughly under running water, till water runs clear. Rub fish with salt in and out.
In a saucepan, arrange the pork fat at the bottom. Put the fish on top side by side. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes till fish is done.Boil 100 grams of tamarind in 1/2 cup water and strain.

How To Prepare Tuna Fish Sisig

Tuna Fish Sisig

Preparation Time 10 minutes plus 15 minutes to marinate tuna. Cooking time is 20 minutes.

Basic Ingredients

  • 1/2 kilogram tuna fish fillet, cubed
  • 1 sachet 8 gram MAGGI Magic Sarap
  • 1/4 cup MAGGI Savor Calamansi
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon MAGGI Savor Classic
  • crushed pork chicharon (pork rind)

Cooking Methods

  • Marinate tuna in MAGGI Savor Calamansi for at least 15 minutes.
  • Fry marinated tuna until brown and crispy. Set aside.
  • Heat oil and saute onions for 30 seconds. Stir In prepared tuna
  • and season with MAGGI Magic Sarap(optional)
  • Transfer on a heated and buttered sizzling plate. Top with crushed
  • chicharon if desired.
